Joseph - I just watched your "why geography education matters" video. I also saw one of yours a while back on Youtube. I've been running a project called Landmark on Kidlink.org for a few years that is geography based, a worldwide, riddle/clues-based search for landmarks, slightly competitive, but lots of fun and addictive in a good way and it seems to spread from the classroom to the home involving parents. Anyway. I'm interested in finding out more how to use GPS in the college curriculum, just added an app to my iPhone and met a prof at the recent SITE conference in Nashvile who did an interesting project with his college students in a national cemetery in Buffalo, NY using GPS. I'm changing universities in the fall, on my way to Western Illinois University where I'll be teaching social studies - Teaching with a Global Perspective.
